U.S.A. Olympics Trophy

Chris sculpted a 1/13 scale replica of the statue of “Freedom” that adorns the top of the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC for use as an Olympic Trophy for the women’s sharpshooting team.  To accomplish this difficult work, he reviewed thousands of photographs at the Architect of the Capitol’s Office that were taken during the statue’s 1998 restoration. From this research, Chris was allowed to obtain 75 photograph copies for his personal use as references to complete his sculpture.  Before the finished statue was sent to Colorado, it was displayed at the “Freedom” show put on by the National Capitol Historical Society. The finished bronze statue sits on top of a wooden dome, and is now on permanent display at the U.S. Olympic headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
